A Mindful Minute with Elise Bialylew

WELCOME TO WEEK 3

A huge congratulations for getting this far. It's a real testament to your commitment and prioritisation of your own self-care.

This is the week that people often find the novelty wears off, so I encourage you to really reconnect with your intention for signing up to Mindful in May.

And, of course, remember... the key to a lifelong meditation practice is to know that as a human being, you WILL fall off track, but there is always the opportunity to begin again.

So be gentle with yourself, and keep going even if you miss a day here or there.

This week, we will bring our focus to mindful relationships. You’ll be hearing from some of the world’s leading experts in the field of relationships.

Meditation has been criticised by those who are unfamiliar with its benefits, who call it “navel gazing” or “self-absorbed”; however, the truth is that meditation not only helps us understand ourselves with greater wisdom, but also helps us to be wiser in our relationships.

Mindfulness practice helps us bring more patience, compassion and understanding to those around us as we get better at not only taking a pause when we notice we are getting triggered by others, but also seeing the deeper reasons for their actions or attitudes that we find difficult.

As Pema Chodron, renowned meditation teacher, states…

“If we learn to open our hearts, anyone, including the people who drive us crazy, can be our teacher.”

Today you’ll hear from the wonderful Susan Piver. She shares some profoundly insightful perspectives on how we can bring mindfulness into our relationships,  experience deeper intimacy and overcome the common challenges we all face in relationships.

Let us know your biggest takeaway from today's video interview and what you observed in today's meditation in the Facebook group or on Instagram.

As Ram Dass, the late spiritual teacher, famously said,

“If you think you are enlightened, go and spend a week with your family.”
